Three levels of Intelligent Will (Buddhi) and Accomplishment

Date:
July 23, 2021
Speaker(s):
Mr. Garry Jacobs
Notes:
  1. 3 levels of Intelligent Will: ordinary understanding, dynamic practical intellect, higher reason and will
  2. Higher mentality is subject to impurities of lower nature -- senses, desire soul, emotions, heart
    • It is also subject to its own inherent limitations in these 3 levels of mental knowing since the mind itself is an instrument of ignorance
  3. Only rising above mind to gnosis can discover Truth
    • Darcy's decision to save Lydia, Fogg's conviction he could circle the world in 80 days and his determination to save the princess, Mary Thorne's decision to give up Frank, Churchill's "we will never surrender", C. Subramaniam's goal of food self-sufficiency in 5 years, Morris Goodman's determination to recover from fatal accident are all instances of the man rising above the knowledge and will of mind to involve the Spirit
    • They are represented in Gita's "You can become whatever you will to become" Shifting reliance from prayer to surrender to Mother can raise us to that higher level
  4. The revolution of rising expectations -- Aspiration and Expectation
    • Expectation is passive desire or wishing of a man subjected to Nature
    • Aspiration is active will of the spirit in man (purusha, psychic, supramental) to be master of Nature
    • Progress comes by shifting from desire to will -- Thy Will be done
  5. Discussion of Intelligence and will continued
